WOW
WOW - What else can be said?! The
NOVAQUATICS SWIM TEAM volunteers, swimmers, coaches and boosters
and the City of Irvine support staff did IT AGAIN! The daunting
task of hosting two national championship meets back-to-back and
following it up with a once in two decade international event - the
PAN PAC Championships - was an overwhelming success.
Congrats to all those that volunteered to help
over the course of this past month, especially those that really
stepped up with a big grin on your face and volunteered for the
sake of volunteering and not just for mandated membership
hours.
The positive comments were heard throughout the
swimming venue and all over the city. "What Great Hosts you were."
"What Great facilities." "What a Great community." "Can't we have
the nationals here every year?!"
This event could not have been done without the
day-to-day efforts of our own Kim Hoesterey and the Irvine Aquatics
Supervisor Briane Schonfeldt. Without their energy and enthusiasm
none of this would be possible. But without our volunteer support
all their efforts would have been in vain.
You all should take tremendous pride in what you
just accomplished. You should also be pleased that your children
were able to see an assemblage of the very best swimmers in the
world in their own backyard. The kids have come away from this
experience with a little extra motivation to drive them to the next
level of swimming.
These Pan Pacific Championships were among the
best I have participated in over the past 20 years. The fact that
my own Trojan Swim Club athletes brought home nine gold medals, one
silver and two bronze medals and countless championship records was
only possible by the hospitality and enthusiasm of the NOVAQUATICS
program.
I want to extend to all the pride I have for this
program. You have set the bar that few if any could match.
WOW!

SUMMER
BREAK SCHEDULE
Following
Championship Season the Novaquatics encourages all swimmers and
families to organize some family time and enjoy a well deserved
break. However, we will continue to offer
workouts and hope all our swimmers recognize the importance of
staying active and including swimming in their summer break
activities.
Reminder that
the first three weeks of August have most of Woollett unavailable
for our traditional summer break schedule, and all programming
normally at Woollett, has been relocated to Northwood High
School. Therefore our hours at Northwood are
extremely limited, and we are lucky to have a consistent schedule
through those busy weeks.
We will return
to our normal site schedules on Tuesday, Sept 7.
